Customized Art Nouveau furniture for a hotel hall in Prague
In 2025 ARSPA Arredamenti completed a prestigious international project together with the Interior Designer L. Pietro De Stefani according to the requests made by the Hotel Royal Prague, situated in the city centre: furnishing the hotel’s hall and meeting room. The Interior Designer and our customer wanted to transform the hotel’s entry room in an evocative, elegant and welcoming space, reminding the Jugendstil in the early twentieth century.
The realisation of all sitting pieces, from chairs to armchairs, and curtains included the use of high quality velvet, 100% Made in Italy, planned as a modern element but realised with traditional techniques.
From concepts to details: designing with precision and vision
Like every ARSPA Arredamenti project, listening to the client and realising all details were the basic stones for the creative process. The initial brief defined the designer’s objectives together with the style and function of the furnishings, whereas the operative phase included sketches, technical drawings and customized solutions.
This is the main challenge in our reality: respecting the customer’s project while offering all the abilities, the knowledge and the high quality techniques with the distinctive “Made in Italy” mark. Techniques, refined materials and high quality fabrication are strictly interconnected.
Canaletto walnut and textured velvet: when the material tells a story of style
The Interior Designer chose the Canaletto walnut as one of the noble woods with a timeless elegance. This is a kind of wood rich in grain and perfect for evoking the Jugendtil’s elegance. The natural finishing enhanced the aesthetic qualities, giving depth and elegance to the furnishings. For the seating and curtains the Designer and the client selected plain and textured velvets, decorated with elements that characterized a Jugendstil grey and black drawing. This combination of materials created an elegant as well as welcoming space according to the original goals.
The implementation phase was particularly risky: drafting the technical notes and ensuring their correct interpretation by the production team required the highest precision and synchronization.
Nothing was casual: each piece of furniture was designed and made to measure the new space.
As evidence of the excellent results achieved, the client and the Interior Designer expressed great enthusiasm and satisfaction with the partnership with ARSPA Arredamenti and with the solutions we offered. This is the kind of feedback that keeps motivating us.
Concrete and long-lasting artisanal solutions
As it’s often the case with our projects, our experience has helped us to suggest original and functional solutions. A significant example is the design of the armchairs, customized with cantilevered backrests and internal iron reinforcements, ensuring solidity and stability without compromising aesthetics.
These choices are the result of decades of experience and the collaboration with designers, they make our activity unique: not simple furniture, but customized solutions designed to last and tell a story of passion connected to the Italian artisanal woodworking.
